ACT Government approved on-line education course for Owner-Builders
and is considered one of the most informative, helpful, easy to follow and
up-to-date courses available because it’s interactive!
Own-It
Build-It
incorporates many web-links to valuable websites, keeping you up-to-date
with the latest legislation and government rulings when undertaking your
project. The Own-It Build-It author also wrote consumer advisory book
‘Your
Home’, is a winner of the 2005 NSW OFT
‘Ministers Award for Consumer Advocacy’ and has over 25 years experience as
a building consultant including assisting Owner-Builders.
There’s no need to spend a weekend in a classroom,
upon
payment you simply download the course to
your computer (or it can be
sent by surface mail*) and complete in the comfort of your own home, after
hours or even at the office. The course can be printed off and if
you apply yourself can be finished in
less than 3 hours!
Own-It Build-It
consists of 13 individual sections and covers all you need to know to make
your project a success and apply to ACT Land & Planning Authority for your
Owner-Builder licence, without difficulty.
The course
includes modules on
contracts, OH&S, insurances, authority permits and
procedures, plus valuable project management tips. Testing is done by
a
short
multiple choice quiz done on-line and
which is simply structured and easily
completed. If you don’t achieve the minimum 85% pass rate first time around,
you get a second chance.
