Another thing about this course that I liked is that it gives you freedom to do it at your own pace at the place where you feel comfortable doing it.

Dominic from the office was a great help to me as he explained to me the core of this online course and also he was very professional about his job.

It took me about 3 hours of reading the whole booklet and while reading it I was answering the questions as well.

"I recently completed my CertIV in residential building and was disappointed that the OFT still requires me to jump through the additional hoop of an owner builder's course. On saying this, I found the course as supplied by you to be well put together, it seemed pretty comprehensive and easy to follow - having recently covered a lot of the course material, I managed to complete the reading and quiz in approximately 1 1/2 hours so it wasn't too much of an ordeal. Also there are a few issues that are o-b specific particularly the workers comp insurance that I would not necessarily have been aware of if I hadn't been required to complete the course.

"I found the course useful, easy to follow and was able to complete it quickly - which was why I chose an online version rather than having to attend a venue somewhere when they happened to be running a course.

Many of the suggestions were useful (or will be) for example keeping a diary of the proceedings and taking photographs. What is going to be really useful is being able to look up the notes whenever I need to refresh my memory as to the pitfalls and what to avoid. The further links URLs are going to be really useful. I think it is good that owner-builders have to do a course. It reminds me of a wonderful comment on the wall of a dining room at Sydney University:
